McBride Youth United Association is a not-for-profit organization that aims to unite the youth of Windsor-Essex County. MYUA provides mentoring and educational programs for elementary and high school children. The organization provides the youth of Windsor-Essex County with skill-building, essential life skills, strong interpersonal skills, and pro-social friendships.

McBride Youth United Association (MYUA) is dedicated to empowering at-risk, underrepresented, and racialized youth, guiding them toward reaching their full potential. Through the provision of mentorship, comprehensive educational programs, and the creation of safe spaces, we aim to foster environments where learning and personal growth are not just encouraged but flourish. Our mission is to be a beacon of support and opportunity, ensuring every young person we serve has the tools and resources to navigate life's challenges and succeed.

Last Year’s Highlights

Reflecting on an incredible 2023! Here’s a recap of our impactful year, made possible by the support of our amazing funders and partners. Grateful for the opportunity to run Two Mentorship Program intakes, host Youth Conferences, conduct Mental Health Workshops, organize and host a vibrant Summer Camp, and launch an enriching After-School program. Our Holiday drive was a success, bringing joy to 61 families. In total, we positively impacted the lives of 459 individuals. A heartfelt thank you to our Funders and Partners for their unwavering support!

Activities from Previous Years

  • Holiday Drive 2023

    The Holiday Drive 2023, held on December 15, was a great success thanks to our generous donors: Border City Athletic Club, Walmart, Windsor Regional Hospital, Procter and Gamble, and ABC Day Nursery. We prioritized children actively participating in our programs to receive holiday packages. To ensure your child benefits from future drives, please ensure they are enrolled in one of our programs.

    We received an amazing variety of donations:

    Toys from Border City Athletic Club, funds from Walmart to purchase toys, hygiene products and clothes from Windsor Regional Hospital, and hygiene and household products from Procter and Gamble.

  • Toy Drive 2022

    The first annual Toy Drive 2022, held from October 14 to December 12, saw new, unwrapped toys and gifts donated for children aged 5 to 18. Drop-off locations included Border City Athletic Club and Windsor United Community Centre. This event was supported by sponsors and partners, fostering community support for children and families in the Windsor & Essex Community. The drive successfully brought joy to many during the holiday season.

  • Community Coat Drive 2020

    During the winter of 2020, from October 23 to November 23, we collected warm coats of all sizes to help those less fortunate in our community. Thanks to the generous contributions from our sponsors and partners, we were able to bring warmth and comfort to many individuals during the holiday season. The drive successfully provided much-needed support to those in need, making their holidays a bit warmer.

  • Grocery Gift Cards 2020

    On May 1, 2020, Brandon McBride purchased grocery cards from FreshCo in Windsor, Ontario, and delivered them to eight families in need during the Corona virus pandemic. Inspired by the book "The Go-Giver," McBride felt a responsibility to give back to his community. He spent between $100 and $200 per card, depending on the size of the family, and placed the cards in mailboxes to maintain safety.
